Palliative / End of Life Care

Palliative care is not just about managing the medical condition of a person but it also involves taking a holistic approach to the care of the individual as well as supporting their loved ones during their visits.

People are treated with dignity and respect. Gentle massage is available, music may be played or poetry can be read so the resident is not left alone during this time.

Most senior care staff, nursing staff and the management of the homes have been trained in level 3 Principles of End of Life Care. Each home works closely with all professionals including specialist hospice nurses when necessary.

Spiritual & religious support available

Many of our cares, nurses and managers are trained in the principles of Soul Midwifery providing a holistic and spiritual approach facilitating a peaceful and dignified death.

Some people may also request to see either a priest or a minister to help them with their spiritual and religious journey during this end of life care.
