This morning some of our residents from The Check House enjoyed seeing the Christmas tree in Axmouth church. It looks wonderfully festive.

Elisa Charles can be seen in the photo with her son Charles. A very proud Elisa is holding the book her granddaughter Lucy has recently had published, titled "Cakeography". A selection of the cakes will be sampled at a coffee afternoon on the 26th January 2017. Lucy says her book is an "accumulation of all her most loved food and drink from childhood to the present day, home and abroad in delicious cake form."

Thornfields Christmas Party!

An lovely, fun time was enjoyed at Thornfield by both the residents and staff at their Christmas party. Everyone joined in the fun. Emma and Mike did an amazing feast for tea too. Thank you to everyone.

Tha Check House was the first to have their annual Christmas party. It was a fabulous event enjoyed by everyone. The food was amazing and the band played many popular Christmas hits.

Children from St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Axminster came and sang carols to our residents and then enjoyed a little treat from Father Christmas. A great start to Christmas festivities.

This morning some of our ladies at The Check House thoroughly enjoyed a cheese tasting class with the activities staff . Thanks to our chefs in the kitchen for preparing the cheese board.

Jack is looked after by one of our activity staff and so spends alot of time at Thornfield. He has become a firm favourite with the residents and this morning is waiting and ready to join in with carol singing around the piano!

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed singing carols this morning while they made a giant reindeer for the home. Lots of smiles and giggles were heard throughout the morning!

On the last Sunday before the season of Advent it is traditional for everyone to stir the mixture for the Christmas pudding. Everyone now waits eagerly to taste it on the 25th of December!
